Last night at the New French Bar, EAR PWR threw down for a crazy dance party. It was another sign that there are things in Asheville that are crazy, there are things in Asheville that are wild, they just pop up maybe a bit less than New York. Sad that this pair is rumored to be moving north soon. Check them out on myspace for some tunes, and their blog.

I’ve been to 3 shows in the last week and its been one good show after another! First up was King Tut at Fred’s Speak Easy, was good but I bout choked on cigarette smoke. Then an awesome show featuring Dark Meat, a small showing for them with only 14 of 17 members coming in from Athens, GA. Tonight was at the Grey Eagle again w. Soft Circle (crazy looped beats, guitar, and live drumming), Titus Andronicus which played great (they reminded me of the pogues a bit), and headliner No Age which were also awesome, totally unpretentious and lived up to and beyond my expectations.  I’m not going to post MP3’s because you can easily go on seeqpod.com or myspace and find them yourself. I was hoping to not have to write this post because my roommate, business partner, and go to writer extraordinaire would have done them justice but the clocks ticking and I’m not waiting around.

My lovely special someone has been in town the last week so I’ve not written much. Asheville was a lot more fun with her around. I’ve got a few freelance projects going that I both acquired/delayed while she was here so thats going to keep me busy over the weekend. My Mountainx classified post seems to have gotten a bit of attention, I’m debating expanding to craigslist/iwanna as well seeing that I haven’t found a job yet more freelance work would be good.
